Nothing to do with talent mate, just a bit of experience :) Which
means, it'll come with time.
Anyhow, here you go.
Somewhere in your KDE Menu you'll find something called "Terminal
Emulator" or something.
Open that up. It'll confront you with a terminal window. Nice Black
and whitish looks. You'll see what I mean.
Enter the following text "sudo apt-get install firefox" and hit enter.
It'll ask you for a password, just enter yours - it should work - if
you are the one who has installed the system.
And that's already all you have to do. Wait for it to finish, close
the window, and somewhere in your Menu, probably under Internet or
networking, you'll find Firefox.

New subject: [FWD} Firefox
... or even simpler (Bob, you're too much of a
command-line junkie ;-) - I know, I also work that
way):
- go to the K menu
- select the "add/remove programs" menu point
- give the small window your password (like Bob, assuming it's
you resp. your username that did the installation and thus
has "sudo" rights)
- in the "adept installer", scroll down to "Internet" in the
left pane and select it
- scroll down and select firefox in the second pane
- scroll further down and select thunderbird, still in the
second pane
- click the button "apply changes" at the bottom of the window
- when it's done, close the adept installer
In the same adept installer, you might find a lot of other
interesting applications. When you highlight an application
in there, you get a description for it in the right pane.
