greetings, my printer is hooked up to a router/printserver combo that supports LPD, so i set up linux to use network lpd printing. unfortunately the printserver is very slow, and seems to be unable to transmit some documents properly to the printer. the reason seems to be the following, stated on the manufacturer's webpage: "The Print Server Buffer, is only 64K, so large print jobs are nearly always not executed correctly or at all.". is there any hope for a workaround? maybe either by: - letting the linux box do the processing before sending the print job to the printserver. - convincing the printserver to let the printer do the processing, which is probably better suited to do the job with 8MB of memory. best regards, kymon
