Sometimes, this happens if the new version has some of its *.ppd files in a
different location. The definition in cups points to the old location, but
the file has moved.
In that case, deleting the printer in cups (
http://localhost:631) and then
re-creating it again should help (because new definition will then point to
correct ppd file).
Be sure take careful note of the old settings (or define printer under new
name before deleting old one, just in case)
