Hi,
for those interested in all (ok, many) aspects of networking
with Linux, and who'd like some german documentation - have
a look at the current special edition of Linux Magazin
"network edition".
It comes with a Debian 3.1 Sarge DVD, features articles on
networking services, physical interfaces, monitoring etc.

I got myself a copy (online order from friday, came today),
I'll bring it to tomorrow's meeting in case someone wants

If you can't wait for a mail delivery, the little press shop just as you enter
the pedestrian zone of town has the issue. It came at the perfect time for
me, since I'm trying to get my laptop to work with the 802.11g NIC using
802.11x authentication....
Even if you're a network engineer (like me...) this is highly recommended
reading, as it takes a very practical hands-on Linux approach to networking.

Indeed, there's quite some stuff on WLAN cards, routing etc.

ACK, but I'm still disappointed by the article on postfix - not
enough in-depth for me (I've only read 3 articles so far) :-(
For instance the part on relaying - /etc/postfix/transport ok,
fine - but postfix still won't relay, as those domains noted
there don't belong to $my_networks, so you'll have to define
them again as relay_domains, or find some other way to get
them authorized for relaying... at least it looks that way to
me right now.
Also, the part on amavis/antispam/antivirus is extremely short
and definitely insufficient.
Oh well, at least there will be something about this at the
LinuxDays *g*.
Let's see for the rest of it...

Sorry, I put that wrongly here - transport_maps is not taken
into account by permit_auth_destination (which contains
$mydestination, $inet_interfaces, $virtual_maps and
$relay_domains).
so you'll have to define
them again as relay_domains, or find some other way to get
them authorized for relaying... at least it looks that way to
me right now.
... which is tedious if there's a long list there that you
need to maintain in more than one place.
Strangely, after new tests, this looks wrong again. I'll do
more testing and report.
