Hi. I have here a new laptop with a broadcom BCM94311MCG wlan mini-PCI card.
The pci-ID is 14e4:4311.
I don't know, how to make it work. I installed ndiswrapper with the bcmwl5.inf
driver, but ndiswrapper -l shows:
bcmwl5 : invalid driver
bcmwl5 : driver installed
device (14E4:4311) present (alternate driver: bcm43xx)
It doesn't work. iwconwing finds no accesspoint.
Please help.

Alex,
If you try:
$ iwlist scan
Do you see your access point?
If so, then you just need to configure your wireless device so that it
will associate with your access point.
e.g.
$ iwconfig eth1 essid wifi_box

Al,
not to ask a dumb question, but is your system set up to use the bcm43xx
module instead of ndiswrapper (modprobe | grep bcm43xx)? Most newer
distributions are using bcm43xx by default. If it is, then I would go
with that one.
If this is not the case, you may want to try uninstalling all of the
drivers that you have tried so far and try one of the firmwares listed
as working on the ndiswrapper web site. I tried several before I found
one that played nicely with my system.

Hej,
personally, I wouldn't go with bcm43xx, even if it was used by default.
That driver is buggy (as stated from the (ex-)developers themselves))
and only works with some chipsets.
If you think you must use a native driver, I'd rather go with the newer
bc43, which would be included in 2.6.24 and some patched versions of 2.6.23
As my last email seems not to have gone to the list, I'll reask my
first, most simple question:
Alex, are you sure the ndiswrapper module is loaded? (lsmod | grep ndis)

open-source -driver also.
