personally, I wouldn't go with bcm43xx, even if it was used by default.
That driver is buggy (as stated from the (ex-)developers themselves))
and only works with some chipsets.
If you think you must use a native driver, I'd rather go with the newer
bc43, which would be included in 2.6.24 and some patched versions of 2.6.23
As my last email seems not to have gone to the list, I'll reask my
first, most simple question:
Alex, are you sure the ndiswrapper module is loaded? (lsmod | grep ndis)

If this is not the case, you may want to try uninstalling all of the
drivers that you have tried so far and try one of the firmwares listed
as working on the ndiswrapper web site. I tried several before I found
one that played nicely with my system.
