Hello
I ran apt-get update followed by an apt-get upgrade. It answers with making
all found upgrades except one, where apt-get writes:
Following packages are kept back:
Why doesn't it do the update? An apt-get dist-upgrade solves the
'problem'.

There is a way (at least through the GUI) to "lock" a package, meaning
to prevent it from being upgraded.
We use this to prevent some buggy upgrades to happens automatically.
Maybe you should look that direction ?

upgreade, to check what changes in upgrading the package, like in SuSE?

That's exactly the expected behaviour:
"dist-upgrade" is obviously
different from "upgrade". Why would developers bother creating two
different options.
"upgrade" means "upgrade any single package".
"dist-upgrade" means "upgrade even if the package list of the system has
to change".
So, your upgrade is just depending on an extra package compared to the
current situation.
