HI
After a while working with my USB-Memorystick, it will not be mounted
anymore.
While copying, the error message appears: .... does not exist anymore.
I then unplug the USB Stick and plug it again, and after a while, it works
again.
I use SuSE 9.2 on a 550MHz Pentium III.
The Stick is recognised as (lsusb)
Bus 001 Device 011: ID 067b:2516 Prolific Technology, Inc.
Bus 001 Device 010: ID 067b:2515 Prolific Technology, Inc. Flash Disk
Embedded
Hub
My /etc/fstab line is
usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs noauto 0 0
/dev/sda1 /media/sda1 auto noauto,user 0 0
What goes wrong???
USB mass storage devices definetly behave strange. An issue I encounter
periodically is when using different usb mass storage devices, the /dev
changes. So the first I put in will get sda1 the next sdb1 and so forth.
One solution could be to use automount so the system mount the /dev which
is assigned to the device automagically, but this is just an idea ;)
ciao,
pst
