Is that a DSL modem with USB or Ethernet port? If USB, which

Hmm, don't know the "special edition".
Can you tell me how to install my modem under Suse
Linux 9.0(software from

If you've got an Ethernet modem, things should be very easy,
i.e. go to Yast2, get the ADSL networking going by specifying
your login/password stuff. It's not entirely impossible though
that Yast2 would be a bit buggy and needing a bit of hand-
tweaking in the files under /etc/ppp/
Alternatively, you could go set up the package rp-pppoe more
or less manually, which isn't too hard either.
If you've got an USB modem, things might be a bit trickier -
these are often ill-supported, and may need a specific driver
to be compiled for your system. If you could tell us which
modem it is, we could check if it has a chance of working,
with which complications, and if there is a chance, you could
then bring your PC to one of the next meetings so we could
set things up for you (or maybe someone could even come by
your place to have a look at things).
Thanks for more input!
Greetings & hth, Eric
