Small "villages" with different themes are an idea being
 discussed, replacing the expo.
I don't really see what you mean. Will the boothes of the
different Organisations be in those "villages", for I don't really
 get the point ;-)
Well, the idea is to have different themes, like desktop,
multimedia, etc. etc., where people who did presentations or
tutorials can show off their stuff and respond to questions,
and where visitors can experiment hands-on with the software.
We'll recycle PCs from the tutorials for this task.
There wouldn't be organization's booths - the companies there
(with one notable exception IIRC) weren't too happy last year.
   The reason for
the change of concept is the very low visitors
number last year (for the presentations parts anyway - the
tutorials were well visited), and the wish of the organizers
to have more practical / directly useful & interesting stuff
 there.
 Full ACK :)

Glad to see someone agrees already with changing the concept ;-)
   The reason for
the date is financing - we started late with
organization, it was too late to get a budget in for this
year. February it will be because of the availability of
classrooms @IST (uh, sorry, that's Campus Kirchberg of the
 Université de Luxembourg now).
So do you think, that the LinuxDays will take place in the
 school holidays in feb?

Probably, yes. I hope an exact date will be fixed on friday,
so I should know more for the weekend.
