In fact I got a similar problem on my laptop, after messing around with the lilo vga
parameter and framebuffering. I didn't have time to investigate further but I have a
feeling that it is related to framebuffering, so what you could try is recomplile your
kernel without framebuffering. Just a suggestion, cause that's what I wanted to test
next.

Hi all,
after a major system upgrade, I can't switch from X to text mode anymore
([Ctrl]+[Alt]+[F1-F6]). Changing resolution with [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[+] and
[Ctrl]+[Alt]+[-] isn't working either. I'm using the last X in Debian
unstable, fluxbox 0.9.9, although I don't think the problem lies within
the window manager.
Anybody got a clue or a similar problem? Googling didn't help.
