Hi,
@work, I'm using VMWare 3.1 on my desktop for different tasks. On
that machine, I run Debian Sarge (testing) with a 2.4 kernel.
To prepare a course for instance, I used it to generate screenshots
from a booting Knoppix CD - which worked just fine in VMWare.
(obviouly without VMWare tools installed - they only get to be
installed on a fully "installed" guest OS, which can't be done
with a Knoppix CD)
Now, I installed VMWare on my Laptop, which also runs Debian Sarge,
for this task under a 2.4.27 kernel (I normally run 2.6.8.1).
Booting Knoppix under VMWare, I have an extremely "slow" mouse,
whether I use the integrated touchpad or an external USB mouse.
This means that for "normal" mouse movements, I only get a few
pixels' worth ov movement of the cursor.
N.b. just booting the laptop from Knoppix is no problem at all.
Does anyone have an idea what's happening there, and how I could
fix that problem?
TIA, Eric
