[pine / mutt for IMAP]
Good to know,
I wasn't even aware of their IMAP capabilities. I'll
definitely check out especially mutt, as I do very much like this
client.
Pine was written by the *creators* of IMAP...
You learn things every day... unfortunate though that they have
a problematic license.
btw, I tried
mozilla 1.6 just a few minutes ago as I read on /. that
it supposedly solves some IMAP problems, but it still doesn't list
all of my folders :-/
It still has the show-stopper bug that precludes me from even
considering recommending its use for IMAP (#230887).
Hmm... good thing I have my folders elsewhere than under Inbox then.
Forgot to say in my previous email: The reason it
doesn't list all
your folders is probably because you have "list only subscribed
folders" set or a "server mail path" (that you shouldn't have) set,
in
the "advanced" section of the server properties.
Argh, indeed. I owe you at least one $Beverage! I'd seen that very
option in other clients (sylpheed I think), but hadn't noticed in
Mozilla.
In the meantime, I've tested evolution, which had some troubles
with my huge inbox (more than 1000 messages - I know Thierry, yours is
larger). The interface needs some getting used to (said nicely - not
everyone likes Outlook clones), but it seemed more or less functional.
Trying to move 4 messages simultaneously to another folder got it to
fold, though (version 1.0.5-1).
I'll have a look at mutt/pine & IMAP though (could often be useful),
and see about getting an interface in Notes that can work w/o Java
Applets...
Greets & thanks, Eric
