Are you sure than, that your kernel is able to mount ntfs partitions
in r/w? One ought to think that neither Mandrake nor any other
distribution will let users mount ntfs partitions in r/w for write
support in the 2.4 series of the kernel is not mature. It is truly
dangerous for your data. Therefor I either recommend you to update
to Mandrake 10, for it has a kernel of the 2.6 series, or to manually
update your kernel to one of the 2.6 ones.
Mandrake offers with a very great probability an rpm.
