Coming back to the debate I'm a fully debian
converted, apt really is great, however I hate dselect ;)
You are right. I associate Debian too much with dselect. I haven't tried
apt-get. dselect gave me a really bad first impression of Debian ;-)
I think that Debian is a good choice. And it has a really large
community behind it.
