2nd question: can someone (ok Alain, I've got
your answer ;-))
recommend a good IMAP GUI client (so no, I won't take fetchmail
or retchmail for an answer) for use on Debian woody, on a rather
weakish hardware (fluxbox environment)?
I've tried and still use to one degree or another
- Evolution (I used it for both IMAP and POP)
- Kmail
both look somewhat like Outlook (several years ago) and both seem to
have a decent IMAP implementation (haven't had any trouble with it).
As a matter of fact, I try not to use IMAP, because I have a
"pay-by-the-minute" internet connection...
I tried Sylpheed, which seems to be more or less
functional, but
still feels sort of weird by moments (when I hit "get", all messages
disappear from my screen until I restart the application).
The general feel of Mozilla Mail is definitely nicer (when it works).
How does Sylpheed feel?
I don't want to install kmail, as that would
imply installing the
Qt libs and what goes with them, and that would imply some dependency
problems (guess I shouldn't have installed certain backports).
OK, that takes care of one.
