The textfile has a certain signature. You have to search this signature
and with a little chance, you will find the whole file again.
If the partition wasn't heavily filled, it's possible that the file was
not fragmented.
A time ago, I had the same question, because I accidently deleted
photos on an ext3 filesystem. Alain provided me some tools, so ask him
about those. Unfortunately, I don't think to find these tools again at
home but.....

Hi,
I have unfortunately deleted a text (source) formatted
file on my HD by doing command rm; is there any mean
to recover it under ext3
Ifound many utilities but only working under w$
Otherwise it's said it's possible to do that using
ext3 journalization but I don't know how to proceed

mc (midnight commander) offers such feature, but the first thing to
do is to umount or remount read-only the meant filesystem...
