Hello list,
Do you guys know of a "proxy", that can proxy a connection to more than one
machine? Let me explain; I want this:
* Client A opens a TCP connection with Server B on port X
* Client A sends data on port X
* Server B opens TCP connection with Server C on port X
* Server B opens TCP connection with Server D on port X
* Server B opens TCP connection with Server ... on port X
* Server B sends data on each opened connection
Additionally, it would be great if the Server B (the proxy) would open the
connection with a source IP of client A so that the connection really seems
to come from Client A. I need this to test several Mail appliances at once.
Any idea if it exists? I might code it :) Any suggestions?
Thanks
Paulo

Hi,
I've recently installed suse10.0 on my centrino-laptop (acerTM660) and, as I suppose linux is now well centrino-compliant, it should be possible to be wireless-connected with;so I have a centrino chip from Intel which is perfectly detected by the system, and apparently there are many ressources, modules etc and also apparently a 'KWiFiManager' but I don't know how to use it...
Does anybody know if there is possibility to launch a driverloader to provide wireless connection?(Otherwise I can install Linuxant one's which I'm already using with Mandrake but I prefer avoid this solution); I've also asked Novell's support but they are not hurried to answer....
Thank you in advance for any suggestion

Hello,
I am searching for my work for an Open-Source Streaming Proxy/Relay service.
It should receive a stream from a radio station (like RTL.LU or
SWR3.DE,...) and forward it to a few clients in the local network/intranet.
I have found some at Sourceforge or Freshmeat (like Icecast). But the
problem of all them is that they cannot relay an WMA (Windows Media) or RM
(Real Media) stream which is used by most of the stations.
Have some of you experience with a service like this which could do this job?
The problem with streaming is, when you receive a stream at 20kps, you have
2 Gbyte at a month. And when more users are receiving each his own stream,
it is too expensive...
I watched even for squid, but it does not caching streams.
Thank you for your help.

Michel Kohl
Hi,
as some of you may know, older Loki games do not run well on
newer systems.
In my case, it's Civilization Call to Power (CivCTP) on Debian/testing.
X is XFree 4.3.0.1 (surprise there, I thought I'd switched to x.org...
must've been one of the other systems), kernel is 2.6.11.7
So, I've installed CivCTP (en) on my laptop. I upgraded it with the
latest (AFAICS) upgrade available, civctp-1.2a-english-unified-x86.run
The problem now is that when I start CivCTP, start a new game, I can
select my settings, but then when the game loads, it hangs at about
1/3 of the progress bar. Except for the underlying OS and the mouse
pointer, it's just gone, and I have to kill it via the console.
Funny thing is, if I start a tutorial first, I can actually run a
game (which has it's own issues, but well).
In case it's needed for diagnosis, I can provide lsof output for
the game, or worst case try running it in gdb ;-)
Online, I found tips like using LD_ASSUME_KERNEL, which didn't help.
I also found this nice page:
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Running_Old_Loki_Games
which is not Gentoo-centric, which proposes using old libs etc.,
but that doesn't change things either.
Can anyone point me to some solution that will work? (I've got time
to kill right now...)
Thanks in advance,
Eric
Hi,
I'm looking for an open-source xml parser, i.e an
equivalent of xml-spy (Altova); any suggestion?
PS: the link for analog software windows/linux
http://linuxshop.ru/linuxbegin/win-lin-soft-en/#42 is
actually down, does anybody know where to find the
list?
Thank you in advance

Hi
I'm searching a programm to make a great mp3 out of many mpo3's, if
possible in native format (mp3 or ogg). It's for a friend who wants to
make an audio track for a presentation.
Does anybody know such a piece of code
Thanx

Hello,
I have trouble syncing a Palm Tungsten T5 with Linux (SuSE 9.2)
So far I tried to follow advice found in several places
(Linuxquestions.org, ...) where I find similar error-messages or
behaviours, but no one of the suggested solutions worked.
What I did so far (only those parts that are relevant):
* Start the device -> creates /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/ttyUSB1
* chmod 777 /dev/ttyUSB*
* ln -s /dev/ttyUSB1 /dev/pilot
* start jpilot
* click "Sync" , hit "HotSync" button -> additional devices /dev/ttyUSB2
and /dev/ttyUSB3 created
=> Nothing happens -> quit everything
In some place I found a hint that devices are created when hitting the
HotSync button and tha ttherefore with USB, I need first to push the
button on the device, then click "Sync" in jpilot
I tried this, which gave me the following error:
pi_accept Illegal seek
Exiting with status SYNC_ERROR_PI_ACCEPT
Finished
Another document suggested trying to sync with the "pilot-xfer" command
* Push "HotSync"button
* chmod 777 /dev/ttyUSB*
* pilot-xfer -l
Result:
No $PILOTPORT specified and no -p <port> given.
Defaulting to '/dev/pilot'
Listening to port: /dev/pilot
Please press the HotSync button now...
Error accepting data on /dev/pilot
Strangely, with this procedure I once succeded in syncing (the first
time I tried the command), but after this, it did not work anymore.
Is there anyone on this list able to help me out with this?
BTW, how can I bypass the problem of the chmod command I need to repeat
everytime I hit the Hotsync button, as the /dev/ttyUSBs are recreated
everytime, with permissions set to 660 ??
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
JJ Mouris
Hi
Who's interested:
I had trouble using my USB stick. It couldn't be mounted beause of an
error like Ressource or device busy.
I figure out that I am nhot the only one with such a problem.
After a long discussion with the bugzilla of suse 10.0, someone gave me
the right help:
The layout of my stick was wrong. The first 64k should be formatted with 0.
Most of the *nix formatting tools don't do it, I don't know why.
I used parted to write a new partition table on iot and then do a mkfs.vfat.
Now, all goes fine and the stick is correctly mounted.
The only inconvinience is that it no more supports full bandwith while
accessing.

Bonjour,
