Hi
I've tryed recently to install Mandriva 2006 on a
laptop Acer Serie "Ferrari4000" (with a AMD Thurion
64b, 100GB DD, etc...) but this fails to start
correctly in graphical mode: the screen is 15"4 size,
resolution is 1680x1050 and card is ATI radeon
mobility x700; this hardware is apparently very new
and corresponding driver not included in most recent
linux packages (even Suse 10 which however correcly
recognize the hardware) but ATI furnish a 'generic
driver' for linux 64b distros; problem is that the
installer works only in graphical mode; I've also
tryed XFdrake in failsafe mode and change parameters,
monitor (I'v tryed vesa, ati, radeon..), type of panel
(changing frequence, resolution...),
resolution...without success...
Any suggestion?
Thank you in advance
Cheers
M.
Hi
A friend sent me an invitation for an event. It is showed in Ascii text and
an cal.ics icon. When i click on it, I can choose 'Open with Import
Calendar into Korganizer'.When I click on it, Kalendar opens, but nothing
is imported.
Could someone help me, because that feature will help a lot.

Hello
Happy new year.
I always have the problem, that I don't know how to configure 3D for my
graphics card.
I have an nvidia RIVA TNT2 based card on a suse x86_64 system.
Updating the graphics driver in YAST doesn't work, so I tried to configure it
manually.
I ran the script nvidia-installer... ...run, but the driver reported me that
my card isn't supported by that driver. I have to use the legacy driver.
???? Where can I find it? I downloaded an older version of the driver, but
this still gives an error while compiling, due to the fact the binary part
is built to work in xfree86, but my SuSE 10.0 is based on Xorg.
Where can I download or compile a driver with 3D accceleration suitable for my
system?
Thank you
Al
