Dear Patrick,
It is great to hear from
you. Congratulations on getting ICANN Luxemburg! PIR will of course be a
sponsor of ICANN Luxemburg. The procedure that we have established with other
ICANN sponsorships is that because we are a non-profit, we generally get a
discount, yet receive equivalent visibility as large "for profit" sponsors. For
example if a gold level sponsorship is USD$10,000, we would get Gold level
sponsorship as a non-profit for USD$5,000. Our VP of Operations, Bruce
Beckwith bbeckwith@pir.org coordinates PIR
sponsorships for ICANN. Please forward Bruce any of the material we need to
confirm our sponsorship.
I look forward to seeing you in Washington, DC.
Safe Travels,
Ed

Subject: ICANN
meeting in Luxembourg - July 2005
Dear Ed,
You may remember me as
the guy sitting next to you at the INET Barcelona gala dinner earlier this
year.
It is my pleasure to inform you that the Luxemburg Chapter of ISOC,
together with the Prime Minister's office and the Restena Foundation, will
organise a meeting of the ICANN in Luxembourg from 9 to 15 July
2005.
Luxembourg is quite central in Europe. Hence, we expect a large
number of attendees to this meeting.
Furthermore, since Luxembourg will
preside the European Union during the first semester, it will be a a major focus
on all agendas, whether political or cultural and generate a lot of activities
alongside the political events.
Obviously, organising such a large
conference requires a lot of resources for which we need to rely on sponsorship.
For PIR, sponsorship at the meeting provides various opportunities to have
visible exposure and reach out to the highest level of the international
community.
As organisers, we wish to form sponsorships with companies and
organisations that will take an intelligent approach communicating with and
among the Internet international community. We also want to learn from our
sponsors by actively involving them and together, identifying the most relevant
areas to their needs.
I will be in Washington DC to attend the ISOC Board
of Trustees meeting on 12th and 13th November. I hope we can meet to discuss how
PIR could get involved in this meeting.
Yours sincerely,
Patrick
