Just my 5 (euro)cents:

About the issue on aDSL offers in Luxembourg, Plan-Net regrets to have to notice that the actual choice between real alternative offers gets reduced to EPT (including CrossComm) and Cegecom (including Tele2). (I speak here about the last mile loop, not the IP backbone, as Luxembourg Online, Alternet and others have their own backbone)

I think we are likely to see an increase of the aDSL prices in Luxembourg due to this lack of concurrence, which is a shame, especially when comparing the Luxembourg prices with neighbouring EU states.

As example, we have a professional customer in Contern that applied in July for an Internet access. There apprear that there is no other practical choice than EPT for the aDSL part, and that EPT will not deliver the last mile loop before December ! Trials through other ISPs shown that, in all cases, they are just resellers of EPT at least for the last mile loop, making no solution possible before december.

I think also it should be underlined that phone services are still imposed when applying for a copper line for aDSL services. Lots of peoples wish to have this copper line for Internet access only, and are obliged to pay for a phone service they don't wish (as they have VoIP and GSM services already).

I recently asked some cable operators if a company that wish to have Internet access through cable network should pay for the TV service as well. The answer is always "yes". Why people that have TV services through the cable don't pay for the Intenret access service they didn't applied for, and the opposite is not true ???

Yours,
